Campbell Stokes is one of the tape recorders of solar radiation. Campbell Stokes discovered by John Francis Campbell in 1853 and later modified by Sir George Gabriel Stokes in 1879. This device consists of a solid sphere made of glass with a diameter of 4 inches is attached to the position so that sunlight can be focused sharply on pale paper.
